2nd January

Taking stock of their inventory, the Black Rangers determine that they have enough rations left for 3 days. They are camped near the vampire lair in the swamp. From here, it is one days march back to town, so they decide to continue east.

Unfortunately, they lose their direction in the swamp, and move south-west instead.

Around midday, they reach the edge of the marsh and enter a forest. The party travels deeper into the forest and happen upon a clearing, in the center of which is a small stone structure with a staircase leading down into a dungeon. This seems like the best opportunity to grab some loot, so the Black Rangers enter the dungeon.

Inside they encounter two acolytes, who come from the chapel in Anna Mall. The two groups eye each other warily. The acolytes seem unfriendly, but since they are outnumbered 3 to 1, they don’t attack.

Ealard the thief listens at a door and hears noises from within. It sounds like someone is talking in an unknown language. The group forms up with the Byre the half-elf and Auciell the figher in front, because they are the most well-armoured. Auciell throws the door open to suprise whoever is inside. They storm the room and see six goblins.

The melee fighters move up and engage the goblins. Zadwigus the druid uses his sling to throw a stone at the goblins, but misses. A fierce melee breaks out, during which Byre the half-elf is wounded quite heavily. In the end the remaining two goblins surrender and offer to tell the party where they keep some of their treasure.

The party takes a few minutes to rest and then moves towards the goblin-treasure. On the way there they encounter more goblins, but this group wears insignia: A crude red skull. None of the adventurers speak Goblin, but Auciell is able to communicate with them using her alignment language. Via gestures they come to an agreement: Both groups will leave each other alone, but the party must leave after they have gotten the loot. The red-skull goblins intead to take this place over.

The group reach the room that contains the treasure. Ealard the thief almost springs a spike-trap behind the door, but can jump out of the way just in time. With the trap now (mostly) harmless, the group enter the room and finds the treasure: three pieces of jewellery inside a chest. The jewellery seems to be quite valuable (3100gp total). The goblins probably stole it from some wealthy traveller.

After the delve, the group finds a suitable camping spot in the forest. Since Byre is heavily wounded and their rations are dwindeling, they decide to head back to the town.
